Business opportunity

This project is driven by a forward-looking vision aligned with Europe’s energy and environmental priorities. With the EU’s increasingly stringent carbon emission targets and the growing demand for renewable energy sources, wind power is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of the continent's energy transition. Recognizing this market potential, the company is investing in a data-driven solution to support the development of wind energy across Europe — and globally.

Currently, the wind development market faces several inefficiencies. Project-related information is often scattered across multiple sources, requiring developers to spend a significant amount of time searching for relevant data. In addition, there is no centralized platform for connecting with suppliers, which slows down communication and decision-making.

The Wind Analytics project addresses these challenges by offering an all-in-one consulting and data platform. It provides stage-specific insights and streamlines access to key information and stakeholders — helping wind developers plan more effectively, bid more competitively, and engage with suppliers more efficiently.

Design challenge

The platform covers all key stages of the wind farm lifecycle — from tendering and bidding rounds to installation, operation, and decommissioning. This broad scope involves numerous steps, stakeholders, and complex data. The main challenge was to make this large-scale, multi-layered information accessible and actionable for different user types and use cases.

Approaches

Through a series of UX workshops with the core team, I mapped out the full lifecycle, identified key personas, and defined their needs. A major part of the work involved organizing scattered information and establishing a clear structure. Our solution centered on an interactive map that visualizes all relevant data layers, enabling users to easily navigate across stages and access the right level of detail.
